Happy Birthday to me!

I had such a good birthday. It started with getting to sleep in. Yippy to that! Then, my husband made me a wonderful breakfast/lunch....brunch...Yum! Then, we relaxed and watched tv while Savannah took her nap. When she woke up, we played outside in the yard for a little while. Then, my hubby decided that he wanted to take me bowling. I haven't been bowling for so long. It was fun, but now feel I need to redeem myself by playing bowling on the Wii. I have come to realize that I am much better at bowling when I sit in one place and swing a remote. It was a lot of fun though and Savannah was super cute. After bowling, we went to dinner, where I was surprised with a table full of my wonderful friends. Thanks for taking time to come celebrate with me, Bonnie, Sam, Melanie, Mike Danielle, Ryan, Jonathan, Mom, My Hubby, and My baby girl. I am so grateful that all of you could share in my special day. I finished the day by coming home and playing a board game that I got for my birthday, with my hubby, Ryan, and Jonathan. It is a really fun game and any game played with these people is a very amusing time. Overall, it was such a wonderful day. I got beautiful flowers sent to me from my best friend and I got to spend time with my loving family and friends. I also got photo albums I wanted, cards, balloons, a gift card, and and a bunch of cupcakes. I really feel so blessed! Thanks to everyone for being there and for all that remembered me and left me messages. I truly appreciate it! I love you hunny. Thanks for making this day so amazing! You are the best!

Guess where we went???

Some of you may know that my birthday is coming up really soon, as well as my hubby's. Well, my amazing husband did something so wonderful for me to celebrate the day. He took me and Savannah to Disneyland!!!!! I make that sound like we went for a visit....Did I mention he bought us season passes????? Woo Hoo!!! A whole year full of going to Disneyland! I am so excited! Anyway, we just went and it was a blast. Savannah had the best time and she got to meet the one friend she talks the most about....TIGGER! (or as she says it...TIGGA) It was such a great day! I loved watching Savvy meet all the characters. She was so cute, giving them hugs and kisses. One of my favorite parts of the whole day was right when we got there. When we came in the entrance, there stood Mickey and Minnie. It was as though they knew we were coming. Savannah got so excited. Apple Picking Time!

On Wednesday, my wonderful husband took Savannah and I up to Oak Glen for a much needed family day. He works at a school that is on a track system and he is off track right now until November. Anyway, we decided to go check out some pumpkins, get some yummy cider, and go apple picking! Neither one of us have done this before, but it was so much fun. Savannah had a blast! She even got to eat her first apple all by herself. I think it is one of her favorite foods now. She begs me for them. Below are a few pictures. Hope you enjoy!

Can you say crazy???

Today has been one of those days where I feel like I could rip out my hair from all the whining that Savannah has done. Most days I can handle it. Today however, has been one of the "whining for no reason" days. Even when she is cranky....she is still so cute. Here is an example......

Savannah was whining at me because I wouldn't let her take the wipes out of the box while I was changing her diaper.

Me: Savvy you are going to make Mama crazy! Can you say crazy???

Savvy: Da-da!

Me: HA HA HA!!! No Savvy....can you say crazy?

Savvy: Da-da!

Me: (yelling for Bryan) Honey....come here...Savvy has something to tell you.

(Bryan comes in the room) Savvy can you say crazy?

Savvy: Da-da!

Bryan: What are you teaching her to say???? (Bryan laughing too)

Me: (laughing) I did not teach her to say that....she said it on her own!


How classic is that???? It just proves she is my daughter! I love how when I am most frustrated, one small thing she does can just make my day and turn it around. I love that girl!

Yummy Goodness!

Yesterday I decided that I wanted to make some banana bread. I did not have a recipe for one, so I went on this website that I have that is full of recipes. I found a recipe that sounded really good and people were commenting on how yummy it was. So, I decided to try it. It came out so good!!!! I thought I would share it with all of you.

Banana Bread

3-4 ripe bananas, smashed (I used 3, but next time I will use 4)

1/3 cup of melted butter

1 cup sugar (can easily reduce to 3/4 cup)

1 egg, beaten

1 tsp. vanilla

1 tsp. baking soda

pinch of salt

1 1/2 cups of flour

1 tsp. cinnamon

1/2 tsp. nutmeg (optional)

nuts (optional)


You don't need a mixer for this recipe, just a spoon and some arm muscle!

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. With a spoon, mix the butter into the mashed bananas in a large mixing bowl. Mix in the sugar, egg, and vanilla. Next, add the baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt and mix it in. Add the flour last and mix. Pour the mixture into a buttered 4x8 inch loaf pan. Bake for 1 hour. Once it is finished, let it cool. Remove it from the pan, slice and serve.

(Mine did not take an hour to cook. I made a double batch and did not have two of the same pan. One took about 30 minutes and the other took about 45 minutes. I had also been cooking in the stove already so it was hot before I started the bread. Just watch the bread closely and when it is a golden color and you can put a toothpick in it and it comes out clean it is done!)
