Saving Savvy!!!
Today was our first day back to church since before we moved. It's been kind of hectic around here and our schedules were thrown way off, but we finally made it back today, which was really nice. Previously when we would go to church, Savannah would come in to the sanctuary with us, listen to the music, get cranky half way through, and then I would have to take her to the nursery. This went on for some time because she wouldn't let me leave her in the nursery without me there. Now that she is a little older, I think she would be fine. She loves to play with other kids and toys. However, today I decided to take her in the sanctuary with us because I was worried that she might freak out because it's been a while since we have been there. Anyway, she was really good through the whole service. She played quietly in the pew and didn't even get fussy. Well, towards the end of the service the pastor asked if there was anyone that would like to come up for an alter call and that he would pray for them. My darling little girl chose that exact moment to run out of the pew and straight for the front of the church. Needless to say, I had to chase after her. The pastor started laughing and said " We have our first person already." I guess she felt she needed to be "saved." Therefore...I have declared this day "Saving Savvy Day!"

In need of pixie dust....
My baby went potty in her big-girl-potty today!!!! I was so surprised and proud of her. We bought her a potty about a week ago because she seemed as though she was getting interested. She has seen us use the bathroom and she always wants to throw a piece of toilet paper in the toilet before it flushes. So, we thought we would buy a potty and when she seemed like she was ready, we would start teaching her....no rush. It takes a lot of work to potty train and I for one am not ready for that...LOL. Anyway, this past week, anytime I was in the bathroom she would run in and sit on her potty. (Most of the time, she just uses it to store her toys.) Every so often if she needed a diaper change, I would say,"Let's go use the potty." I would then take off her diaper and let her sit there a minute or two, then I would put a new diaper on. Well today, I did that and she just sat there. I was getting dressed at the time, so I really wasn't paying much attention, when I heard a noise. I turned around and she was on the edge of her potty and she was peeing, so I pushed her on the rest of the way and she peed in her potty. I was so excited!!!! She was a little frustrated because she peed a little on the floor, but I was so happy that she got the idea of how to use it. Once she knew she wasn't in trouble and that I was proud of her, she started smiling and running around the house dancing. I guess we will see if she keeps it up. Did I mention that I am not ready for her to start potty training yet???? Can someone hook me up with some pixie dust to make her stop growing up so fast? Where is Tinkerbell and Peter Pan when you need them?

Tattling....
My little girl is now 17 months old and has learned how to tattle. This morning, she was playing in the hallway with her popper toy. She likes to chase the animals around the house so that they bark or meow at her. Anyway, today she decided to pick on the dog. She was chasing him all around the house when she comes running to me and screams. I asked her what was wrong and she points to the back room. I told her to show me what was wrong. We go walking to the back room and she immediately gets on her tummy, as low to the floor as possible and points under the bed. So, I too, get on my tummy and look under the bed. There, I find the dog hiding in the corner as far away as possible. Apparently, he was tired of being run over, chased, and hit with Savvy's toy so he hid under the bed. My little angel did not like that he was hiding from her, so she came to tell me about it. She is too funny some times!
On a side note....I found a few more recipes to try. I have not tried them yet, but they sound yummy. If you are interested, let me know and I will send them your way. Then, you can try them and tell me if they are good! :)

Jammies are clothes too Mama....
So here is a cute little story for all of you.
This morning Savannah comes up to me, still in her pjs and hands me her shoes. She loves this pair of shoes. She wears them all day, when I let her. Anyway, she brings her shoes to me and gives me a little grunt. (her way of asking me for something.) I tell her that I will put her shoes on, but we aren't going outside, which I know is what she wants. She immediately goes over to the door, points, and starts a little whine. I tell her "no...we need to get dressed first." She walks away and comes back a few minutes later carrying Bryan's flip flops. I tell my hubby that Savvy has a gift for him. He starts laughing! In the end, she got her way! He put on his shoes and took her outside in her pjs. Oh by the way....the reason she wanted to go outside was to walk the dog. We do this every morning after we get up. Our back yard is not fenced or gated, so we take the dog out on a leash. I guess this was Savannah's way of telling us to stop being lazy and take the dog out!

What's for Dinner?
Okay my wonderful friends....I need a little help. I am so tired of cooking the same stuff all the time. Let's share recipes. I know some of you out there can cook some delicious food. Now teach me how to do it. I think I cook pretty good stuff too, so let's share. I particularly need stuff that I know my lovely little girl would eat....and just a hint: she loves pasta. I love to cook, I just haven't been all that creative or inspired lately. We were eating a lot of fast food while we were moving....and even though it's good, it is not at all healthy. It would be nice to have some good homemade food. Oh...and it doesn't have to be fancy. I love quick dinners. I have a chicken and rice dinner that is so good! It's similar to the "Campbell's" chicken and rice casserole dinner....but it is so much better. Anyway, I would love to share some recipes with all of you, if you would be so kind as to share some with me. I also love to bake. I have some yummy sweet treat recipes, as well. So, if there is something you love to make and are willing to share, send it my way and I will do the same for you. I have always wanted to do this with friends, but can never seem to get people that are willing to share. If you are interested and don't want to post it on here, then email me the recipes. PLEASE HELP!!! I have a hungry family to feed and no ideas! So....I guess I will leave you with one last thought..... WHAT'S FOR DINNER??????
PS. Mrs. Pino....You know you want in on this!!!! :)

Obsession....
I have come to the conclusion that I am obsessed with the Olympics. It's ridiculous really. I have been watching everything....even the things I don't particularly care about. When the Olympics started, I was interested in a few events: gymnastics, swimming, and beach volleyball. Now I am watching pretty much whatever is on at the time. If I miss it....I record it. It's sick....I know! I just can't help myself. I am such a fan! Anyway, I just thought I would share my new obsession. If you are not a Phelps Fan, then you should be. He is unbelievable! Oh yeah....I got my hubby hooked too! Ha ha ha!!!!!

Turning Wheels...

So...on Saturday, Bryan and I watched my nephew for my brother and his wife. It's been a while since I have watched him and "WOW" is he energetic. For a child that never has sugar or caffeine.....he sure can keep you entertained. I watched Savvy as Tristan brought all of her toys to the living room, then opened up everything, turned everything upside down, spread everything all over the room, and more. I could see her little wheels turning in her head as she observed her cousin play with her things. My only thought was....."She is such a sponge. She learns by watching. I am in for one messy day!" Sure enough...as soon as Tristan left that night, and we cleaned up everything....she began taking it all back out and demonstrating what she learned. If only I could get her to put everything away when she is done. I am still teaching her that. Anyway, while he was here, we went outside and played in the sprinklers and in Savvy's pool. I took some pictures. Thought I would share!

And so it begins.....
Well.....thanks to a friend of mine and her two very lively children (Averi), I have decided that I too must start a blog. She asked me not that long ago if I was going to join the blogging world, but at the time, I was just too busy. I was in the process of moving. I guess since I am now moved and have a little more time, I should start writing. I can't promise you that my writing will be all that entertaining, but I will try my best to give all of you a little amusement or at least a smile. Please feel free to comment on my thoughts and stories, give me suggestions, rant, share your opinions, or just say hello. I am very new to this and have no idea what I am doing. So.....I guess all I have left to say is....Happy Reading!
Oh yeah....Since this is my first post, I will share a fun little story with you. We just moved into a new house and we have two bathrooms. The back bathroom is where we keep the cat food, in a very large self feed bowl because we have 3 cats. The other day, I was in the living room and I noticed it was really quiet (that never happens when there is a 16 month old in the house, unless she is sleeping). Anyway, as I walk to the back of the house, I hear this sound as though it is raining. I know it is not, so I hurry to find out what is going on. I find Savannah sitting in the middle of the floor throwing all the cat food into the air. She has pretty much emptied the bowl all over the bathroom, as the cats sit watching her. I look at her and say, "What did you do to mama's bathroom?" She looks at me so innocently....and smiles! The girl still likes to put everything in her mouth. Who knows how much of the cat food she ate before I got back there! Yum! Yum!
