In need of pixie dust....

My baby went potty in her big-girl-potty today!!!! I was so surprised and proud of her. We bought her a potty about a week ago because she seemed as though she was getting interested. She has seen us use the bathroom and she always wants to throw a piece of toilet paper in the toilet before it flushes. So, we thought we would buy a potty and when she seemed like she was ready, we would start teaching her....no rush. It takes a lot of work to potty train and I for one am not ready for that...LOL. Anyway, this past week, anytime I was in the bathroom she would run in and sit on her potty. (Most of the time, she just uses it to store her toys.) Every so often if she needed a diaper change, I would say,"Let's go use the potty." I would then take off her diaper and let her sit there a minute or two, then I would put a new diaper on. Well today, I did that and she just sat there. I was getting dressed at the time, so I really wasn't paying much attention, when I heard a noise. I turned around and she was on the edge of her potty and she was peeing, so I pushed her on the rest of the way and she peed in her potty. I was so excited!!!! She was a little frustrated because she peed a little on the floor, but I was so happy that she got the idea of how to use it. Once she knew she wasn't in trouble and that I was proud of her, she started smiling and running around the house dancing. I guess we will see if she keeps it up. Did I mention that I am not ready for her to start potty training yet???? Can someone hook me up with some pixie dust to make her stop growing up so fast? Where is Tinkerbell and Peter Pan when you need them?

haha. GOOD JOB SAVVY!! We are very proud of you!! Tara, I KNOW how you feel. Our kids are 2 months apart and Gordon did that about a little over a month ago for the first time and I just remember wow my little boy is growing uo FAST and what do I do cause I am way not ready and I am still not. But the ADVICE that I got from my mom was 1. (Girls are way EASIER to potty train than boys) and 2. (If you aren;t ready and they are then it could take way longer for both of you and she may not be potty trained until she is 4 or 5). So I kknow how you feel!! You can do it and Savvy we again are very proud of you. Just you and Gordon need to stop growing up so fast!! lol

What a big girl!!! Nani likes to watch me use the restroom too. I have Kimo old potty that I have gotten out for her, but she likes to just sit on it with the top closed like a seat. I hope that Savy takes a little more time for you. I hate it when they grow up too fast!!!
