Hey...I know I haven't written on here in a really long time, but I just haven't been inspired.....UNTIL NOW! As most of you know, I am due to have our second baby in October. As I get closer to my due date, I have started to get questions about how I am feeling, when am I due, how much longer do I have, etc. Well, these are a few of the things that have been said to me, that might just get you slapped. Those of you who have had children may be able to relate. Feel free to add on if you think of something similar. Some have had children and have still said these things. Just remember.....Think before you speak!
Things said that may get you slapped:
1. "He really looks popped out there today, doesn't he?"
2. "You look good...looks like you are carrying a basketball under your shirt."
3. "It doesn't look like you have much room left in there."
4. "It doesn't look like you have much longer left." (When I actually do)
5. Them: "How far along are you?" Me: "34 weeks" Them: "Really? I bet you are at least 36 weeks."
6. "You look HUGE since I last saw you!"
7. "Having twins???"
8. "You are so much bigger this time, than the last time I saw you."
9. "You look so much bigger this time, then when you were pregnant with Savannah."
10. "You don't look as big this time, as the last time you were pregnant."
11. (Game played at my baby shower) "Let's measure her belly to see how big she is....I mean small!"
12. "Your (new) shirt makes you look bigger than you really are....a lot bigger!"
13. (Game played at my baby shower) "Are we measuring around that belly button too?"
14. "I just saw you....You look so much bigger than the last time. It's only been a few weeks." (Actually it had been a month)
15. "Boys are known for making your hips wide."
Thanks for the kind words everyone!!!! I will remember these for when you have kids!

True story:
When I was pregnant with my oldest, my sister was actually pregnant too. Our boys are only 6 weeks apart. She was told she was having a girl when this conversation took place:
Her: "My friend told me that when you're carrying a girl, you gain all of your weight in your hips and your butt. Well, you're carrying all of YOUR weight in your hips and butt and you're having a boy!"
Buahahaha! Yup, I remember wanting to slap too. Even now, when I'm not pregnant and people see a picture of me pregnant with Bear... their jaw drops...I still want to slap them.
BTW- I'm still putting dibs in for the 5th. ;)
Love ya's!!!
YUP NEVER MESS WITH A PREGNANT WOMAN!!!!
haha:) we are excited for you and your little bundle of joy:)
I got a lot of "WHOA!"
Even people who didn't know me - for instance, standing in line at Wing Stop one day I turned around and the girl behind me shouted that. (Come on, people!)
Just know that you look great and the reason people say those things (most of them) is because it's all baby - your frame is still thin & lovely. :)
But yeah - I know how it feels to want to smack people (or drop kick them, as I put it when I was fed up). It's hard to explain unless you're there. http://onthewaytobaby.blogspot.com/2008/11/love-it.html
