Yesterday I decided that I wanted to make some banana bread. I did not have a recipe for one, so I went on this website that I have that is full of recipes. I found a recipe that sounded really good and people were commenting on how yummy it was. So, I decided to try it. It came out so good!!!! I thought I would share it with all of you.
Banana Bread
3-4 ripe bananas, smashed (
I used 3, but next time I will use 4)
1/3 cup of melted butter
1 cup sugar (can easily reduce to 3/4 cup)
1 egg, beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda
pinch of salt
1 1/2 cups of flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg (optional)
nuts (optional)
You don't need a mixer for this recipe, just a spoon and some arm muscle!
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. With a spoon, mix the butter into the mashed bananas in a large mixing bowl. Mix in the sugar, egg, and vanilla. Next, add the baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt and mix it in. Add the flour last and mix. Pour the mixture into a buttered 4x8 inch loaf pan. Bake for 1 hour. Once it is finished, let it cool. Remove it from the pan, slice and serve.
(Mine did not take an hour to cook. I made a double batch and did not have two of the same pan. One took about 30 minutes and the other took about 45 minutes. I had also been cooking in the stove already so it was hot before I started the bread. Just watch the bread closely and when it is a golden color and you can put a toothpick in it and it comes out clean it is done!) Hope you like it! I thought it came out
awesome!!!!!
